Food Trip
Recently, me and hubby have been sneaking to go to Ministop and Amber’s. Whenever I need to go to the bank or Shopwise, he would go with me. We will meet in Ministop, then we’ll order fried pork siomai and chocolate-strawberry ice cream. While eating, we would then check out the magazines to know what are the latest celebrity news. After we’ve finished eating, we would then go to Amber’s, which is beside the convenience store. We would then order pancit malabon and barbecue.
We missed going out by ourselves and having a food trip is the only time we can spend more time together. Our plan next time is to include eating buffalo wings in Brooklyn’s Pizza. I hope we won’t gain weight because of our recent escapades, LOL.

Monterey Meat

We buy meat in the groceries because it is nearer than the market. Besides, it’s Monterey so we thought the meat is safe. But the last time the helper bought the meat, it wasn’t good. She cooked pork steak but when she tasted it, there was an after taste and a smell as if the pork they sold was a month old already. I tasted it and she was right. Hubby said not to dare eat it and asked us to throw it. No one dared eat it too. Because of this, I’m having second thoughts in buying Monterey meat again.
Marang
Hubby came back from Davao bringing with him lots of marang. He brought a big container full of it! I’ve first eaten the fruit when we went to Davao. I thought it was a jackfruit but when my father-in-law opened it, the inside looks like the inside of sugar apple, just bigger.

There were about 10 marangs and half are about to get over riped so me and our helpers have eaten three marangs in one sitting.

I saw very few marangs being sold in the groceries because the fruit gets easily over riped. The price is almost P100 per kilo I think and was shocked when I saw one costing P200. Anyway, the 10 marangs lasted for only days, he he. The seeds were dried out and fried by our helper. I wasn’t able to taste it though but she said it tastes good.

Fruit Salad

I have been eating fruit salad for snacks everyday for four days straight now. This one’s a real fruit salad and not from a fruit cocktail. The first time I tasted it was when hubby bought from SM Makati. It was good even if the fruits they put there are most likely not sold so instead of being rotten they chop it and sell it as part of a salad, LOL.
My husband was the one to pick the fruits then have it weighed after. A kilo costs more than a hundred he said and sizes vary. He put apple, watermelon, honeydew, mango, melon, kiwi, dragonfruit, gulaman and nata de coco.
It was addicting and even my daughter loves it. But it’s better consumed fresh. I tried putting a cup in the refrigator and it was just thrown away since it’s not good when frozen.
I’ll make one next time since it will be cheaper if I make my own.
