My Most Memorable Moment as a Mother
Since me and hubby knew that we were having twins, we knew everything will be tough. I didn’t had an easy pregnancy, being on a bed rest beginning from my second trimester until I’ve given birth. I was put on a wheelchair to avoid giving birth prematurely. But even with all the precautions and me being careful in everything I do, the twins were still born premature, at 35 weeks.
We are thankful though they were not put in an incubator. They were healthy when born but their blood sugar became intermittent. We stayed in the hospital for a week because of that. Even if they are in the nursery for monitoring, it didn’t stop me from breastfeeding them. Me and my husband will go there every two hours for me to stimulate milk production and feed them. I set an alarm so as to always be on schedule.
Being at the hospital and away from my eldest daughter, I felt I was neglecting her so on my third day when I can walk properly, I had her stay with me and sleep with me on the hospital bed.
It’s hard taking care of the twins and have a toddler at the same time. I’m lucky if i have two hours sleep straight for a day. I also must see to it that my eldest isn’t being neglected.
It is hard but I’m happy to take on this hardship. It won’t always be like this so I’m treasuring this as part of being a mother.
This is my contest entry to Momma Finally’s What is your most memorable moment as a mother?
