Ultrasound at Makati Medical Center
I had my third ultrasound at Makati Medical Center this afternoon. The first time was when I experienced some pain on my side and my doctor had me checked at the hospital to make sure everything is okay. The second time was when I was confined due to bleeding and this afternoon, it was for Congenital Anomaly Scan.
My doctor told me that I should have it scheduled since the process usually takes an hour and since I’m having twins, it will take a little more. I called last week and have it scheduled with her referred doctor Monday at 2:30pm. I was at the hospital’s Delivery Room Ultrasound Section before the said time and so I was expecting that I would be called on time. But, 3pm came and I wasn’t called yet. I asked the nurse in the reception and asked why I wasn’t called yet. She told me that there have been some delays since there were lots of patients during the morning.
So I thought that they only accept those who have a schedule like in New World. But no, they even accept walk-ins, depending on whether there will be available slot and it depends when the doctor makes a request for urgent checkings.
There were two sonologists but I was scheduled to have an ultrasound on their latest and newest ultrasound machine. The other sonologist was using the other machine for Transvi Ultrasound and there were about 30 women waiting for that procedure!
I just thought that since I have it scheduled, I would be checked on time and that the procedure will take longer to check the twins thoroughly. But, the doctor seemed to be in a hurry to finish since there are other patients to check as well. It was just disappointing since I paid more than 6 thousand pesos for it. I’m not a doctor so I’m not sure if the procedure was done thoroughly even if it just took less than 30 minutes.
