Learning Java, Linux and other Open Source Technologies
Java used to be my dream programming language. My former colleague and I even enrolled in a school just to learn this programming language and I have been requesting the first company I’ve worked for to transfer me to Java if ever there would be a new project with this as a programming language. At that time, I was a mainframe, Unix C and Powerbuilder programmer.
I was able to transfer to another company but the programming language is .Net/C#. I was lucky to be accepted in that company even without any training or experience in ASP.Net. Ever since, I have been doing projects using .Net framework.
Now, in the current company I worked for, I am assigned to a new project which uses Java, Linux and other open source technologies. Is it a dream come true? I’m totally used to ASP.Net because of the ease of use of this framework and now, I have to learn Java and other open source framework. This could be really challenging and interesting since I have to speed up learning this technologies.
I hope I can cope with the new project.

Microsoft.Net vs Java
This was posted by a friend on Facebook and would like to post here on my blog. The trailer is so funny that the guy’s parents is a Microsoft fanatic while the guy likes open source. The Java/MS wars aren’t over yet and I think it won’t be especially when you see the video below.
